Mystic Krewe of Scissors and Glue is producing an exhibition at Artisan Bar & Cafe, the home of the Kolaj Fest collage making space, that will run the month of July with additional work being added during Kolaj Fest New Orleans. Krewe members selected Familiar Vegetables by Carlotta Bonnecaze as a point of inspiration and are inviting Kolaj Fest New Orleans participants to contribute a collage using that image. After Kolaj Fest New Orleans, the collages will be scanned and turned into a book published by Maison Kasini, the publishers of Kolaj Magazine.

Given the short time frame, we were only able to include Hana Kark members living in the Los Angeles area.

Luke Reichle titled the piece “Imminent Eminence” and described it: “There felt to me to be a sense of expectancy in the composition. The figures seem to be assembling in anticipation of the arrival of something, someone. And from the fact that the Queen of the Fae is present, it must be someone important. But is it human, Fae or even corporeal? Is it a physical deity or the mathematical formula that solves the riddle of the cosmos? Or are they all just waiting for pizza. The lines could represent the deity in the distance or perhaps a lure they’ve assembled to draw it in.”
